The solubility of cobalt in fayalite slags and factors affecting cobalt recovery

Summary

This study evaluates the behaviour of cobalt in non-ferrous smelting and converting circuits by experimentally determining the effects of silica, alumina, lime, and magnesia on the solubility of cobalt in iron silicate slags and by applying a new equation which describes cobalt recovery in terms of a readily measured thermodynamic parameter and a mass balance.
