The potential of occupational melioidosis was studied in staff at a Western Australia minesite, where small percentages showed evidence of exposure, some of recent exposure.

Evidence was not found for overt infection attributable to on-site exposure, suggesting several pro-active measures have reduced exposure risk on-site.
