The Agnew nickel deposit, Yilgarn Block, W A – stratigraphy, structure, geochemistry and origin
Project Overview
Summary
The Agnew nickel deposit in the Agnew – Wiluna greenstone belt of the Yilgarn Block, has previously been assigned to the category of “intrusive dunite associated” deposits.
On the basis of a detailed re-interpretation of the geology of the deposit, this report concludes that the nickel sulphide mineralisation is hosted by komatiite flows which pre-date the dunite lens.
