Summary
This study developed novel systems for recovering gold from currently uneconomic oxide gold resources in Australia by using a modified in situ leaching method.
Three lixiviant systems were studied, and gold was recovered using an ion exchange resin. A literature review identified microbial processes which may hold potential for leaching of oxide gold ores.
Keywords: gold oxide ores, in situ leaching, alternative lixiviants, ion exchange recovery, microbial processes
