Full report title: Improved hydrogeochemical exploration in the Northwest Yilgarn Craton: Adding value to underexplored areas
Summary
Earlier work by the authors had developed hydrogeochemical indicators for lithology, hydrothermal alteration and prospectivity analysis for the northern Yilgarn Craton.
These methods were applied in the NW Yilgarn Craton to develop a provisional mineral prospectivity view of the area. This region has a much lower density of demonstrated mineral resources than the NE Yilgarn Craton, although the geology is similar.
Overall, results for this study support previous research demonstrating the value of groundwater chemistry for defining lithological changes, hydrothermal alteration and mineralisation.
