Project Theme
Detection Technology
Project Period
2001 - 2003
Summary
The new technique for 3-D imaging remotely of fractures using P-wave data was developed to use multi-azimuthal seismic data.
Physical and numerical modelling was used to test the new method, on fractured/anisotropic media.
The method was applied successfully to two land seismic data sets containing features of geologic interest.
Keywords: 3-D seismic, fractured rock, anisotropy, fracture mapping, multi-azimuthal
