WA Government’s proposed Hydrogen hub investment could benefit MRIWA.
McGowan Government proposed $117.5 million for Renewable Hydrogen Hubs to attract federal funding.
The Mid West and Pilbara Clean Hydrogen Hubs will support and provide significant leverage opportunity for MRIWA’s Green Steel Challenge.
WA has numerous natural advantages in the renewable hydrogen industry, including abundant solar and wind resources, available land, existing export infrastructure, and strong trading relationships.
Hydrogen will play a key role in providing the energy solutions at scale to enable further processing of the iron ore resources to help meet the outcomes of MRIWA’s Green Steel challenge.
Through its research programs, MRIWA supports initiatives aimed at overcoming technology challenges that prevent the use of hydrogen and renewables in the iron ore to steel value chain.
