Registrations open for 2021 MRIWA student-industry workshop
Delivered under MRIWA’s Education Program, this exclusive masterclass will investigate the value of environmental and social governance in mining
Industry participants in this half-day workshop, to be held in the Perth CBD on Thursday 14 October 2021, will work with MRIWA’s PhD scholars as they are led through a case-study-based exploration of environmental and social governance (ESG), engaging with concepts including:
- The historical and social context of ESG in the resources sector
- Moral and ethical dilemmas in ESG
- Reconciling jurisdictional and other requirements with global ESG expectations
MRIWA is seeking expressions of interest from thought-leaders and experienced ESG practitioners to participate in the workshop and help develop capability in our student cohort.
The annual student-industry workshop is a centrepiece of the MRIWA Education Program, working to build bridges between mining innovators and decision makers in research and industry.
These events provide opportunities for applying high-level research and analysis skills to mining challenges, and encourage participants to explore systems-level thinking and problem solving in a mining environment.
Places are strictly limited.
