Attenuation of seismic multiples

Summary

Two methods of wavefield transformation were developed to pre-condition pre-stack data to attenuate long period water bottom multiples.

The first method is the radial trace transform which resamples data along curved trajectories such that surface multiples are periodic.

The second method consists of two transforms applied in sequence. Initially, a multiple moveout transform makes multiples periodic, and then an iso-stretch radial transform resamples the data in such a way that the events become stationary (constant waveform).
