Advancing rockburst mitigation techniques in mines
Project Overview
Project Number
M0419
Total Grant Value
$1,573,415
Program Area
MRIWA Contribution
$150,000
Project Theme
Engineering in Highly Stressed and Complex Rock Masses
Project Period
2012 - 2014
Summary
The study consisted of two streams, namely the research and the software development. The software mXrap (previously MS-RAP) served as a tool for technological transfer and its functionality greatly enhanced.
The research stream, the focus of this report, includes the following: seismic hazard assessment, analysis of mining-induced seismic responses, investigation into cave tracking and support performance under dynamic loading.
Keywords: rockburst, seismic hazard, dynamic loading, cave tracking, mining-induced seismic, ground support, mXrap, MS-RAP
