WA Government’s Sectoral Emissions Reduction Strategies include MRIWA’s NZEM challenge.
Sectoral Emission Reduction Strategies (SERS) publication acknowledges the significance of MRIWA’s Net Zero Emission Challenge.
Consultation will begin early next year on the SERS framework, entitled ‘Shaping Western Australia’s low-carbon future’.
MRIWA’s Net Zero Emission Mining Challenge for the mining sector is an example of how the Western Australian Government has a strong track record of building industry partnerships to support strategic outcomes.
The NZEM Challenge aims to reduce carbon footprint, lower energy costs, and improve energy efficiency.
A coordinated and collaborative action will be required across industry to achieve the SERS. MRIWA’s NZEM challenge is a great example of government and industry working productively in partnership.
SERS will provide a credible pathway to net zero by 2050, unlock cost effective carbon abatement solutions and accelerate investment in new low emissions technologies.
