Research delivers new insight into the history and prospectivity of the emerging Albany-Fraser mineral province
Unlocking deposits in the Albany-Fraser region with new geological research
Published: 18 June 2020
Innovative geochemical analysis in MRIWA project M470 demonstrates the Albany–Fraser Orogen shares an early history of geological development and mineralisation with the richly-endowed Yilgarn Craton. Deformed and fractured rocks penetrate deep beneath this region, helping to focus the development of ancient mineralised corridors that could be highly prospective for mineral exploration.
